This isn't the first time this has happened. It's caused crashing issues in Resident Evil Revelations 2 (on release) and stuttering issues in the Trackmania games.. probably other games as well. Makes sense too, you have almost 2k friends. I have close to 300 which is probably enough to trigger it.
This is a Fatal Error! that keep arriving each time I try to start the game. The game had some crash issue, and if we did the -dx11 in launch option it was fine. Then somewhere in chapter 3 it crashed and since I haven't been able to reopen the game. I've tried to reboot, reinstall the game many time, take out the -dx11 put it back.

If that di'dn't work, look for the \Life Is Strange\_CommonRedist\vcredist folder, and install those manually. And start LiS manually too, from the \Life Is Strange\Binaries\Win32 folder. If there are any errors, you'll see em that way (the Steam UI tends to mask those errors). P.S. And I wouldn't do a repair of the distro: just reinstall it
same here it crashes the first time I get the scene of them running away from the school but if I restart the game it gets past it fine, and it's just episode 3 that does this for me, but happens every time I start a new save. #3. Back to userdata, delete the folder with the ID of you game.
I have this strange crash I can't figure out. The first time I launch the app I check if /data/Message.xml exists. If not I create one. I then navigate to a page where I parse that xml file and it crashes because it doesn't exist (so it didn't create one). I looked in the data directory and indeed, it didn't create one.
